Values in Education
In a world which only ever seems to change ever faster, it's important for all those in education - leaders, teachers, parents and pupils - to have a strong set of values to guide them. There is a considerable body of evidence that strong values make for a strong education. It's not enough to do education, the difference is when you know 'why' that education. Underpinning all our work on values are Human Rights.
RealisingRights work with school, colleages, education support services and universities on how these values can work and make a diference in all sort of education establishments
All organisations have values, but while many take them for granted, there are many who understand that where these values are clear to everyone who works in there, they make a difference. The commercial world of the 21st Century is becoming one where consumers are increasing aware of the the ethics and values of companies but that these are influencing the decisions consumers make. Consumers not only want to know that companies will treat them fairly and respectfully.
RealisingRights will work with organisations to develop their values and organisational culture in a way that is not just words, but actions and attitudes.
In a world which is so interconnected and interdependent, we all need ways to nit only understand the immense changes that are going on, but also how we respond to them individually and as a society. Much though many people think we can ignore what's going on, the plain fact is we can't. Broadcast, print and social media bring the wider world into our homes and our lives all the time. So it's no longer the question 'if' we respond, the question is 'how' and strong clear values can enable us to do so more effectively.
RealisingRights work with schools and use the values and principles of Human Rights-based Global Learning to enable educators and young people to learn how their values can be a manual for life in the 21st Century.
Everyone wants better well-being and there's lots of good practical ideas out there about achieveing this. Unfortunately, what delivers better well-being for most people in the first place is not, for example, a programme of exercise or investigating how to get a better work-life balance, but the mindset to do this. Better well-being happens because there is a long-term programme shared by everyone in a particular organisation where cynicism is minimal, mutual respect is high and there is a culture that promotes well-being reflected in the attitudes, behaviours and values of the organisation.
RealisingRights work alongside organisations to develop such a culture. We won't do it for you - otherwise it isn't your culture!
